Male Model Scene

I was recently commissioned by website Male Model Scene to create an illustration for an article they were running on fur in the fashion industry. The article is going to be featured in their first printed magazine publication which I'm really looking forward to seeing.

Lykke Li

A new piece based on probably one of my favourite humans ever: Lykke Li.

How is it April already?

I've been re-assesing my life a bit lately.

My biggest interest outside of illustration and design is music. I've combined the two in pieces and commissions in the past which I've really loved doing, but I figured why wait for someone else to commission the work. This will probably be the start of a bit of an ongoing project combining my love of art and music. This is where I really miss being able to screen print, I think this design as a printed poster would look so much better.

If you haven't got Metronomy's new album 'Love Letters', you should. It's fantastic.

First timer.

I was approached a week or two ago by menswear blog 'Style Stands Alone' to do some fashion illustrations based on some designs seen at London Fashion Week. I've never really attempted fashion illustration, probably due to the fact that people are one of my least favourite things to draw.. ever, but I actually really enjoyed this little project. These are the (hopefully) finished illustrations I produced for the feature.

Graduate life sux.

I've now been living at home for approximately 7 months and jesus it's gone fast. I've neglected my blog big time which I don't really have any excuse for seeing as I'm only working part time and don't really do a whole lot else.

Since I graduated I've been job hunting and doing the odd internship/work experience here and there but really I feel no closer to finding a proper job so I think I'm going to concentrate a lot more of my time and energy on trying to get more freelance work.
I've had a few odd jobs the past couple of months, but nothing paid. Money's pretty important for survival and I think it's going to have to get to a point soon where I cut down on working for free.

Mid-january I got so fed up of living at home/selling shoes/having a severe lack of friends living nearby I decided to book a trip to Thailand. So on Wednesday I'm jetting off to the other side of the world for about 3 weeks. So yeah..

In an attempt to resuscitate my blog from it's creative coma, I'll post a few things I've been working on recently in the hope that it might make me feel productive. Then once I'm back from galavanting around tropical climates I'm going to make a lot more of an effort with life in general.

So I'll start things off with this piece I did recently for Amelia's Magazine. It's inspired by a new song by the band Haiku Salut who have a really nice sound and you should definitely check them out.
